On October 1st, at Liceul Tehnologic „Alexandru Domșa" in Alba Iulia, we continued the Zile cu Sens – Artă în Mișcare marathon with an event dedicated to seniors and families in the community.
This time, the experience was built around movement and connection between generations.
Together with Dan Vancea and Felicia Adriana Vancea, seniors and their grandchildren took part in an intergenerational aerobics session, exercising together in an accessible, energy-filled way.
It was a moment where age differences faded, and movement became a shared language between grandparents and grandchildren.
The event was organized by Asociația POT SĂ AJUT, with the support of Asociația Provident pentru Educație and Provident Financial România, as part of the Invizibilii program.
Why it matters
Often, the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren is limited to everyday contexts, without spaces to actively do things together.
Through initiatives like this, we create contexts where generations:
- grow closer through shared experiences
- communicate more easily
- spend quality time together
Movement becomes a simple but powerful tool that brings people closer together.
How it was for participants
I came with my grandson and didn't expect to keep up with him. In the end, we both laughed and said we'd come back.

About Artă în Mișcare
The event in Alba Iulia is part of the marathon organized for the International Day of Older Persons, held simultaneously in several cities across Romania.
The Artă în Mișcare concept brings together dance, music, sports, and other forms of expression, through which seniors stay active and connected to the community.
Nationwide, more than 800 seniors took part in activities built around movement, art, and social interaction.
Impact
Initiatives like this create contexts where relationships between generations build naturally.
Through shared experiences, participants:
- strengthen their family relationships
- build confidence and openness
- stay active and involved
- discover the joy of doing things together
These moments contribute to a more connected, more balanced community.
