On October 1st, on the International Day of Older Persons, we continued the Zile cu Sens – Artă în Mișcare marathon at Conacul Golescu Grant in Bucharest, with an event dedicated to seniors from Sector 6.
This time, the experience was built around artistic expression and stage presence.
The event opened with performances prepared by seniors from DGASPC Sector 6, involved in the „Mișcare pentru Sănătate" project, who put on a theatre show in a warm, encouraging setting, followed by a musical moment with the Corul Seniorilor.
The atmosphere was rounded out by a recital from artist Walter Ghicolescu, who brought emotion and closeness among participants.
At the end, seniors were celebrated and received symbolic gifts, as a gesture of appreciation for their involvement and for the joy of being together.
The event was organized by Asociația POT SĂ AJUT, with the support of Asociația Provident pentru Educație and Provident Financial România, as part of the Invizibilii program.
Why it matters
For many seniors, opportunities for self-expression and active participation are limited.
Not because they wouldn't want them, but because there aren't enough contexts in which they're invited to be seen and heard.
Through the Zile cu Sens program, we create such spaces — where seniors aren't just spectators, but become part of the experience.

About Artă în Mișcare
The event in Bucharest is part of the marathon organized for the International Day of Older Persons, held across several cities in Romania.
The „Artă în Mișcare” concept brings together dance, theatre, music, and other forms of artistic expression, as tools through which seniors can stay active and connected.
Nationwide, more than 800 seniors took part in activities built around movement, art, and social interaction.
Impact
Initiatives like this have a direct impact on participants' lives.
The experience of going on stage, of being listened to and appreciated, contributes to:
- increased self-confidence
- free self-expression
- reconnecting with others
- a sense of belonging
For many of them, moments like this change how they see themselves.
