Project details
- Date: April 28, 2026
- Location: National Children's Palace, Bucharest
In the month dedicated to World Financial Education Day, at Palatul Național al Copiilor in Bucharest, we organized the 4th edition of ArtFinEdu, an event dedicated to children and parents from single-parent families, where learning came to life through art, play and interaction.
On April 28, 2026, over 220 children and parents took part in an experience built around the idea that financial education can be accessible, engaging and relevant when woven into creative activities. The event brought together theatre, music, dance and interactive workshops, in a setting that encouraged discovery and involvement.
ArtFinEdu is a project that helps raise the level of financial education in Romania, giving vulnerable families access to modern learning methods, tailored to the real needs of children and parents.
A financial education through art initiative carried out with the support of Asociația Provident pentru Educație and Provident România, within the INVIZIBILII program.
Financial education for single-parent families
In Romania, financial education for children and adults is still limited, and its impact is felt most in single-parent families, where managing the family budget involves multiple responsibilities and reduced resources.
ArtFinEdu proposes a different approach — and experience: instead of theoretical information, we create experiences where children and parents learn together, naturally, through direct participation and interactive activities.
Through ArtFinEdu, financial education becomes accessible and practical, focused on learning through art, interaction and community. Children and parents discover essential concepts such as saving, budgeting and making financial decisions, in a simple, applied way.
How the 4th ArtFinEdu edition went
The event brought together 220 participants, turning the small hall of Palatul Național al Copiilor into a place full of energy, creativity and connection.
The activities were designed to build financial skills in an engaging way, through a series of educational and artistic moments:
- ballet, music and sports dance performances by the talented children of Palatul Național al Copiilor
- an interactive financial education workshop led by Andrei Popa – Profesorul de Bani, where children learned, colored piggy banks, talked among themselves and on stage about what they want most
- the theatre show „Mărunțilă și Bancnoțilă", staged by the MiniRicii troupe, which turned ideas about money into a story children could understand — for many of them, this was their first encounter with theatre, offering a new experience that can open up an interest in art and learning
- interactions and creative activities that encouraged participation and dialogue

MC and ambassador of good deeds, Teddy (Toader Păun) chose to stay close to vulnerable communities and turn time spent together into moments that matter. A man in search of people, experiences and places #DeMilioane, Teddy stands by us as we do #WeCareTogether for seniors and single-parent families.
Teddy, thank you for your friendship, your support, and for carrying our story of good forward!
The event combined hands-on financial education with artistic expression, giving participants an interactive, engaging way to learn about money. Financial concepts were naturally woven into creative activities, such as theatre, games and artistic moments, making the information easier to understand and remember. This made the learning process more accessible, more relevant to everyday life and easier to apply within the family.
How it was for participants
I liked everything! It was fun! We learned about money through play and theatre.
Irina, 10 years old
It was a day when I spent quality time with my child and we were happy to be here! We'll come again!

Why does financial education matter in the family?
Financial education for children is essential for building healthy habits around money. Within the family, this knowledge contributes to stability, planning and better long-term decisions.
For single-parent families, access to financial education programs like ArtFinEdu matters because it offers:
- practical tools for managing the budget
- an understanding of the value of money and saving
- the development of financial responsibility in children
- opportunities for connection between parents and children
Impact
The 4th ArtFinEdu edition highlighted the essential role of financial education for children and parents, showing that non-formal education methods significantly increase the effectiveness of the learning process.
By integrating theatre shows, financial education workshops and artistic activities, participants learned differently about how to manage money, save and make better financial decisions, in an accessible way that's easy to apply in everyday life.
ArtFinEdu Bucharest actively contributes to building financial literacy in Romania, giving single-parent families and other vulnerable groups access to relevant educational resources. The project supports social inclusion and promotes a modern model of financial education, adapted to the current needs of children and parents.
